Nol card recharge: frequently asked questions

What is a Nol card and where can I use it?

A Nol card is a rechargeable smart card for Dubai public transport — metro, buses, trams, water taxis, and ferries. You can also use it for RTA parking and at over 2,000 retail locations across the city.

How long does the online top-up take?

The payment step takes under a minute. After completing the transaction, tap your Nol card at any metro gate or bus validator within 24 hours to sync the new balance onto the card's chip.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept Visa and Mastercard — both debit and credit. Other networks (Amex, Discover, JCB) are not supported at this time.

What are the minimum and maximum recharge amounts?

You can recharge between AED 5 and AED 150 per transaction. This applies to all card types — Silver, Gold, Blue, and Red Ticket.

Can I get a refund after recharging?

If the balance was not synced to the card (i.e. you did not tap within 24 hours and the credit expired), you may request a refund. Please see our Refund Policy for details and timelines.
